Three Phase Expansion
The Springbrook Capital Expansion project has three phases including updating existing infrastructure, building residences for new students and additions to the school building.
Phase I: Protect the Students' Safety & Health
Developing a Master Site Plan with extensive changes to our infrastructure was critical to the success of the expansion, our campus and our ability to provide a quality residential and educational program to our students. Phase II: Provide Homes for 24 New Students
A new residential complex of three duplex style houses will accommodate 24 new students. Each 5,075 sq. ft. house will have two 4-bedroom wings allowing each students to have a their own room. Each wing will also have a dining room, living room, den, and bathroom. A central core between the bedroom wings will include a kitchen, med room, staff room, and shower room.
Phase III: A "School within a School" for Children with Autism
The new Gymnasium addition of 10,100 sq. ft. will include a two station gym with ancillary space and accessible bathrooms. This new addition will enhance therapeutic and Special Olympic programs for our residential school program.
A Kitchen and Cafeteria addition of 4,336 sq. ft. will include a main dining room, a quiet dining room and a new kitchen a with serving line. This addition will also become the main entry into the school building and will include a bus loop for drop off and pick up.
The new classroom addition of 6,749 sq. ft. includes six more classrooms that will allow us to accommodate our 24 new residential students. The classroom addition has been designed with a floor plan and finishes that are sensitive to the needs of autistic students.
