NEW North Norwich House Progress

Springbrook is building a new Individualized Residential Alternative (IRA) house in the Town of North Norwich.  This will be the new home for 5 young men who are currently attending The School at Springbrook and who are anxiously awaiting for their new home to be finished.

The new house in is progressing nicely. The outside of the house is finished and the sheetrock is completed inside.

In the Spotlight: Vinnie

Vinnie has been with Springbrook since 1987 and is a participant
in our Community Homes program. He has discovered a new
talent and a love of art through the Center for Self Expression, a day habilitation program run by the Arc Otsego in downtown Oneonta.

Vinny has become quite adept at creating colorful oil paintings, many of which sell at the Main View Gallery within the center. In March his artwork was featured in a show at the gallery, and one of his paintings was selected to be featured on the postcards and posters that were distributed to publicize the event. His mother Patricia, fiancée and two sisters could not be more proud. As for Vinnie, the smile on his face when sharing his artwork says it all!

The ultimate goal for many individuals with a disability is to achieve independence and live on their own. Springbrook's Community Homes make that dream a reality for many.
