Residential School

The Residential Program

Springbrook’s residential program, for children ages 5-21, offers students a chance to explore independence without giving up the supervision and care they may need. The residential school offers students a homelike, yet structured, living environment where skill acquisition is brought about through interactions with direct support professionals.

Students live in one of six beautiful ranch style homes on the main campus. Each residence has a unique, personalized environment that gives students a sense of home. Each home provides staffing and nursing support 24 hours per day. Staffing levels are determined by the needs of the particular students in each home.

Each student has an individualized treatment plan in the residence that works in concert with the individualized education plan establishing objectives across environments. These plans incorporate behavioral teaching methods and learning experiences to increase and enhance skill development is areas such as personal care, communication, social interaction, recreation and community integration.

Children are placed in particular houses based on age and functioning level and house managers design routines that are age appropriate and that support each child's growth and development.

Springbrook’s residential school program on our 110 acre main campus, is located on State Route 28 between Oneonta and Cooperstown New York. The school has the ability to provide residential supports to 48 students.
