Direct Support Positions

These job descriptions give a basic overview of opportunities available at Springbrook. More details and requirements will be provided during the application process.

Residence Counselor (Direct Support Professional)

  • Provide managed care and an appropriate environment for individuals with a disability in the ares of daily living skills, leisure and recreation including integration into the community.
  • Assure the safety and well being of each individual while promoting independence and respecting each individual’s choices, needs, and rights.
  • Strong organizational as well as written and oral communication skills are necessary for the accurate completion of a wide variety of documentation required by various state agencies as well as Springbrook rules and regulations.

Shift Coordinator

  • In addition to the responsibilities listed for Residence Counselor (above), the Shift Coordinator will oversee the operation of a shift in a community home or residential school home.
  • Coordinate the use of the residence day planner, providing direction for the daily activities to ensure that daily activities are planned and completed.
  • Strong organizational as well as written and oral communication skills are necessary for the accurate completion of a wide variety of administrative tasks.
  • Ensure that required documentation for each resident is completed in accordance various state and regulatory agencies as well as Springbrook rules and regulations.

Respite (HCBS)

  • Provide relief care and support to an individual with a disability so that the family can have a 'break' from caring for their loved one.
  • Assure the safety and well being of each individual while promoting independence and respecting each individual’s choices, needs, and rights.
  • Work with the individual on goals including but not limited to self-care, social habits, household chores, and daily living skills.
  • Work under the direction of staff and parents.
  • Springbrook will provide all training necessary for this position.
  • Ability to lift 40-50 pounds.

Residential Habilitation (HCBS)

  • Provide care and support to an individual with a disability, allowing the individual to engage in building their skills from the comfort of their own home where they are likely to need and use daily living skills.
  • Assist the individual in carrying out activities while encouraging them to learn the skills necessary to increase their independence in the home, community and overall environment.
  • Work under the direction of staff and parents.
  • Springbrook will provide all training necessary for this position.
  • Ability to lift 40-50 pounds.

Day Habilitation Without Walls(HCBS)

  • Provide care and support to an individual with a disability focusing on community integration and exposure.
  • Assist the individual in exploring a variety of activities and experiences to build the skills necessary to promote independence in the community.
  • Work under the direction of staff and parents.
  • Springbrook will provide all training necessary for this position.
  • Ability to lift 40-50 pounds.
