Springbrook provides a 5-day orientation program for all new employees. Below is the list of topics covered during the first three days.

  • Confidentiality and HIPAA
  • Lifting and Back Safety
  • Pool Safety
  • Van Safety
  • Fire Safety
  • CPR
  • First Aid

 

Other required trainings that immediate follow the first week include:

  • Strategies for Crisis Intervention and Prevention (SCIP-R) - 2 days
  • Medication Administration - 5 days

Direct Support Professionals must also complete a 6-week extended orientation training program that includes both classroom and hands on learning.  Required trainings includes:

  • Ethics
  • Advanced Team Building
  • Nuts and Bolts of Human Services and Direct Care
  • Behavior Modification
  • Developmental Disabilities and Medical Issues
  • Teaching/Coaching and Communication
