Oneonta, NY: Springbrook, a leader in the support of people with developmental disabilities, will host Dr. Daniel W. Mruzek, Board Certified Behavior Analyst, for a workshop titled Discrete Trial Instruction: Tuning up Our Skills for Maximum Success. The workshop will take place on Tuesday, September 3rd from 12:00 – 3:00 PM in the Family Engagement Center on Springbrook’s Main Campus at 105 Campus Drive, Oneonta, NY, 13820.

In the three hour workshop, Dr. Mruzek will give participants hands-on lessons and pointers for improving their skills and fluency when using discrete trial instruction (DTI / DTT), including appropriate prompting and error correction techniques. The workshop is designed for those who already possess basic knowledge and experience in utilizing Discrete Trial Instruction. CTLE for professionally certified teachers will also be awarded through the Catskill Regional Teachers Center.

Dr. Mruzek is a licensed psychologist and licensed behavior analyst. He provides direct consultation and technical assistance to school districts and agencies through the region, nationally, and internationally. His areas of expertise include clinical and psychoeducational assessment of individuals with developmental and learning disabilities, assessment and treatment of challenging behavior, and promotion of inclusive practices (e.g., staff training and direct consultation to instructional teams). His clinical practice includes supporting families coping with challenging behavior, as well as developing applied behavior analytic programs for the development of skilled behavior (e.g., toilet training, alternatives to aggression).
